Tree Power London (media release, March 31, 2017)

March 31, 2017 – London Hydro and the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) have partnered to provide trees for Londoners. The Tree Power Program invites Londoners to harness the power of trees by planting a native hardwood tree in their yard to reduce air conditioning use over the summer months.

The program is very popular with Londoners, with some trees selling out in the first minute of online sales. Planting a tree in your yard will benefit your home and community:
– Shade your home to reduce air conditioning costs
– Be a good green citizen by reducing energy consumption
– Filter pollution and breathe easier
– Enhance your yard
– Provide shelter for birds

Londoners can also join us for Earth Day London to plant a tree along the Thames River.

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority has helped plant more than 12,000,000 trees.
