OWL Distribution Plants Trees in Burgess Park (media release, April 27, 2017)

Woodstock, Ontario: Burgess Park will be getting a little greener thanks to the employees and staff of OWL Distribution!

OWL Distribution has teamed up with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) for a tree planting day on Saturday, April 29th, 10 am – 1 pm at Burgess Park (entrance off of 423 Tecumseh St, Woodstock, next to Oxford Pool and Spa).

OWL Distribution employees and their families will be planting 200 native trees and shrubs along the South Thames River to improve watershed health.  Environmental benefits include:
– controlling soil erosion
– increasing shade to cool the water
– improving water quality by filtering pollutants before they reach the river
– providing wildlife habitat and food sources

Karen Pugh, UTRCA Resource Specialist, said, “We are very fortunate to have partners like the staff at OWL Distribution that give back to their communities and the local environment.”
