Fanshawe Conservation Area (London) – Rain Garden

The UTRCA established a rain garden at Fanshawe Conservation Area beside the campground registration office, in an area that is highly visible to campground visitors. Educational signage was also installed to educate users about this technique for improving water quality and reducing the amount of stormwater going into the Thames River.  CA staff report that the rain garden has been very successful in capturing rain water running off from the main workshop parking lot and reducing surface water runoff into the pond area.
