Pittock Conservation Area (Woodstock) – Biofilter

Woodstock’s first LID demonstration project was installed at Pittock Conservation Area in 2016. The biofilter consists of four cascading filtration areas, to improve water quality while reducing the amount of stormwater going into the Thames River.  Staff reports that the project has not only served as a fantastic demonstration site but is also working very well.  Visitors are quite interested in learning how the biofilter works.  CA staff hosted two educational programs in the summer of 2018, both of which were well attended.
