October 17, 2019 – The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) is pleased to announce TD Tree Days 2019! Close to 2,000 native trees are being planted by TD staff and volunteers in the Thames River watershed this month.

“TD Tree Days 2019 events are happening in Dorchester, London, St. Marys, and Woodstock, as well as at Oneida Nation of the Thames,” said Karen Pugh, Resource Specialist at the UTRCA. “Trees do more than beautify our parks. From absorbing carbon from the atmosphere to helping to manage stormwater, our green spaces are critical to building resilient and liveable communities.”

TD is planting 1 million new trees by 2030. Since launching this goal in 2017, we have planted more than 96,000 native trees and shrubs in communities across Canada and the U.S. This year, up to 10,000 volunteers and hundreds of community partners will help plant another 38,000 trees. In total, since TD Tree Days started in 2010, we have helped plant over 390,000 trees and shrubs across Canada and the U.S. – and the benefits keep growing!
