September 29, 2020 – The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is excited to launch the Wildwood Nature School program at Wildwood Conservation Area for fall 2020! This individually registered program is designed to provide safe, nature-based outdoor learning through play and exploration.

We consulted parents, caregivers, and professional organizations in developing this program and we are pleased to bring this type of programming to our area.

Participants will find that every trip to Wildwood Nature School is its own adventure! There will be planned options for activities, but what actually happens will be child-directed and depend on the day. There will be stories, play, exploration, journaling, sit spots, shelter building, hiking, using tools, and more. Core routines will be woven into each day including respect for all living things, the learning environment, and boundaries. Participants and their families will learn all about the benefits of being outside and what they need to be outdoors for extended periods of time. We can’t wait for this new adventure to begin!
