Free Family Event at Wildwood Conservation Area on Saturday, September 23

Wildwood Conservation Area (CA) is hosting a free Autumn Open House this Saturday, September 23 from 1 pm to 4 pm. This free family event is a celebration of the first day of fall and has a variety of fun and educational programming including a story hike, dam tours, horses, and more.

“The Autumn Open House is a great chance to be out in nature and experience what Wildwood has to offer,” says Maranda MacKean, Community Education Specialist with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority.

At 1 pm and 3 pm, attendees can meet two Aspens Ojibwe Spirit horses, their caregivers, Salianne and Dale Patch, as well as an Indigenous Educator, Christin Dennis, who will share the story of this almost lost breed of horses and their come back.

At 2 pm, adults and children over the age of ten can tour the Wildwood Dam.

Throughout the event, there will also be interpretive activities in the Visitors Centre as well as a new self-guided Story Hike Trail along the Dr. R.S. Murray Forest Green Trail.

Vehicle Day Pass admission is free from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Wildwood CA is located at 3995 Line 9, RR #2, St. Marys, Ontario, N4X 1C5.
