Ready for Summer! Seasonal Staff Join Fanshawe, Wildwood, and Pittock Conservation Areas for the 2026 Season

As our Conservation Areas (CAs) open for the 2026 season, the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) is thrilled to welcome a new team of seasonal staff at Fanshawe, Wildwood, and Pittock CAs. Each year, these dedicated individuals play an essential role in ensuring our parks remain safe, enjoyable, and well-maintained for all visitors.

This season’s hires include staff in trail work, maintenance, security, lifeguarding, and customer service roles. Together, they will support a wide range of CA activities, from day-use visits to overnight and seasonal camping, helping create positive and memorable experiences for everyone who spends time in the beautiful, lakeside areas.

To prepare for the busy months ahead, staff recently participated in orientation sessions held at each CA. These sessions covered key topics such as park policies and procedures, visitor experience standards, health and safety protocols, and human resources guidelines. Team members also gained valuable insight into the broader work of conservation authorities and the important role our parks play in building a healthy, resilient environment.

In addition to presentations, staff took part in guided CA tours, allowing them to become familiar with the unique features, amenities, and landscapes of the outdoor workplaces. This hands-on introduction ensures they are well-equipped to assist visitors and respond effectively throughout the season.

We are excited to have such a committed group joining us this year and look forward to another great season of outdoor adventure at Fanshawe, Wildwood, and Pittock!
