London-Middlesex Children’s Water Festival Teaches Children about the Importance of Water
From May 9th to 12th, 4,000 students in Grades 2 to 5 will explore the world of water through hands-on activities as part of the London-Middlesex Children’s Water Festival at Fanshawe Conservation Area.
The festival features more than 50 interactive activity stations focused on five water-related themes: Water Conservation, Protection, Science, Technology, and Attitude. The activities all align with Ontario’s education curriculum.
Maintaining the quality and quantity of water is a vital component of fostering a healthy environment. The London-Middlesex Children’s Water Festival inspires children to consider the value of water and protect it for future generations.
“Helping students to understand the importance of water in their daily lives helps to instill a sense of stewardship and appreciation for the environment,” said Linda Smith, Water Festival Coordinator. “Over 600 volunteers are looking forward to engaging with the students through games, activities, and demonstrations.”
On Wednesday, May 10th, the media is invited to Fanshawe Conservation Area to experience the festival.
