Tree Power program launches in West Perth

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) has partnered with the Municipality of West Perth to host the first West Perth Tree Power in 2024! This popular program provides watershed residents with affordable native hardwood trees through partnerships with UTRCA municipalities and sponsors.

“We’re getting set up for a busy spring and we’re excited to get more trees into the hands of watershed residents. We’re very happy to see the program growing and welcome this new partnership with West Perth,” says Rob Davies, UTRCA Forestry and Restoration Supervisor.

Online orders will open on Friday, February 23 at 8 am. Trees are $25 each and residents are asked to purchase one per property so that as many people can benefit from the programs as possible. The species that will be available for purchase include Autumn Fantasy Maple, Bur Oak, Downy Serviceberry, Hackberry, Native Red Maple and Red Oak. Residents will be able to pick up their trees on Saturday, April 6.

Darcey Cook, Director of Community Services for the Municipality of West Perth says, “The Municipality of West Perth is proud to partner with the UTRCA Tree Power Program, aiming to cultivate a greener, more beautiful community by offering affordable native hardwood trees to our residents.”

West Perth residents can purchase trees here beginning February 23 at 8 am: West Perth Tree Power online store.
