New Appointment to the Ontario Certified Crop Advisor Association Board of Directors

Tatianna Lozier, Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA)’s Coordinator of Stewardship Services, has recently taken on the responsibility of representing Conservation Ontario on the Ontario Certified Crop Advisor Association (CCA) Board of Directors. Representing over 680 members across the province, the CCA provides information and expertise on crop production, crop protection, and natural resource management. This group of independent advisors plays an important role in modern agriculture. This responsibility requires a good understanding of science, food safety, technology, economics, and the environment. Crop advisors combine knowledge in these disciplines with their local experience to render sound agronomic recommendations.

The CCA board stays in touch with events and activities across the province including hearing and sharing timely Conservation Authority news. Many Conservation Authorities, including the UTRCA, maintain strong ties to local CCAs in our stewardship program delivery and on-the-ground research efforts. This is a great opportunity for UTRCA to have this relationship.

Brad Glasman, UTRCA’s Manager of Integrated Watershed Management, was a board member in the 1990s and shared, “Every meeting and event hosted by, or where CCAs are engaged, is an opportunity for professional development in applied agriculture. They are a very practical group of individuals that encourage your involvement and want to hear about your organization and activities, in addition to sharing news from their work and efforts.”
