New Shelter for Wildwood Nature School (media release, September 22, 2022)

The Hollow at Wildwood Nature School now features a wonderful new shelter constructed with building materials donated by the St. Marys Home Hardware Building Centre! Brad and Jenny Roth own the St. Marys Home Building Centre and Sam’s Home Hardware in St. Marys. They and their staff have been strong supporters of the education programs at Wildwood Conservation Area for many years.

“We are so grateful to Brad and Jenny for their very generous donation and value their support of our education programs at Wildwood Conservation Area,” said Vanni Azzano, Community Education Supervisor at the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA).

The UTRCA’s Wildwood Nature School provides children with opportunities to build a relationship with the land through repeated visits in familiar natural places. The new shelter creates a space where participants can gather to share experiences, explore the natural world through artifacts and resources, and find shelter as needed.

Registration for the fall Wildwood Nature School is now open! The fall sessions include new PD Day programming that coincides with the Avon Maitland District and Huron Perth Catholic District School Boards.
