Perth South Tree Power returns for a Second Year (UTRCA media release, September 6, 2022)

Residents of Perth South will be able to purchase a tree for their property through the Tree Power program again this fall. It’s the second year that the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority and the Municipality of Perth South have partnered to provide residents with affordable trees.

“Last year was our first time offering the program and it was very well received by Perth South residents,” said Councillor Sue Orr. “It’s a great partnership with a positive impact for the environment.”

Councillor Jaime Martin echoed those sentiments, saying, “Last year’s Tree Power program was so well received in Perth South. We are excited to have it back with new native species to offer.”

This year’s trees include: Autumn Fantasy Maple, Black Cherry, Downy Serviceberry, Hackberry, Red Maple, Red Oak, and Sugar Maple.

Residents can purchase trees at www.perthsouthtreepower.ca beginning Tuesday, September 6 at 10 am, when the website goes live. The trees will be available for pick up from 8 am to 12 pm on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Perth South Township Office.
