Rain Forecast for Wednesday (flood bulletin, March 22-28, 2022)

Watershed Conditions Statement – Water Safety

Issued March 22, 2022 at 4:15 pm; Valid until March 28, 2022

Rain is forecast in the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) watershed starting at midnight tonight, and continuing into Wednesday night. A total of 20 mm of mixed precipitation is expected, with the potential for thunderstorms adding to this total in localized areas.

Water levels on the Thames River are currently elevated and will rise if the forecasted rain materializes, to levels similar to those experienced in the past few weeks.

The UTRCA does not expect significant flooding at this time but reminds the public to exercise extreme caution. Banks adjacent to rivers and creeks are very slippery and, when combined with cold, fast-moving water, pose a serious hazard. Parents are encouraged to keep children and pets away from all watercourses.
