September 30, 2019 – The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) is pleased to announce Start.ca as the partner for the new GREEN Leaders Initiative Program in London. The GREEN Program involves students using inquiry-based learning to look at issues from new angles and seek innovative solutions to local environmental concerns.

“We are delighted to partner with Start.ca for the new GREEN Program in London,” said Brad Hertner, Community Partnership Specialist with the UTRCA. “The target age for this program is 11 to 13, which is a demographic that is especially in tune with technology. A partnership with Start.ca will enable us to expand the use of technology in the program, from remote stakeholder engagement to student generated media content, more sharing of ideas and projects between schools, virtual hangouts — the possibilities are endless.”

“We are extremely proud to partner with UTRCA for the new GREEN Program here in London,” explains Emily Ferreira, VP of Operations at Start.ca. “We were seeking an opportunity to support environmental sustainability efforts here in our community and the GREEN Program was a great fit with our values. The program offers youths exciting hands-on education and empowers them to become leaders in their community.”
