Feb 25, 2020 – The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) is hosting a Rural Landowner Workshop at the Pyramid Recreation Centre, 317 James Street, St. Marys, on Tuesday, March 10, from 7 to 9 pm.

The workshop is a great opportunity to learn about grants and environmental work in the upper Thames watershed. The line-up of topics and speakers includes:
– Cover Crops, Drainage and More (Rick Kootstra, Kootstra Farms)
– So the Climate is Changing, How About our Forests? Creating Climate Ready Tree Seed with Assisted Migration (Kristen Sandvall, Forest Gene Conservation Association)
– The Need for Trees, Then and Now: Tree Planting in the UTRCA Watershed (John Enright and Brenda Gallagher, UTRCA)
– Profitability Mapping: Digging into Data (Mike Wilson, CCA, Veritas)

“The landowner workshop is an excellent way to gain ideas and expertise from conservation professionals and local landowners,” said John Enright, UTRCA Forester. “Whether you’re a new landowner, thinking about becoming a landowner, or a seasoned landowner, you’ll find topics of interest.”
