August 13, 2019 – The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) is pleased to announce that Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) is providing funding for community partnership projects in Woodstock.

“We are very pleased to accept $60,000 from TMMC Woodstock for environmental projects with students and other community members,” explained Brad Hertner, Community Partnership Specialist with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority. “We plan to use the funds to expand opportunities in the Woodstock area for students to participate in our programs, such as Stream of Dreams, Watershed Report Cards, and Focus on Flooding, and to help community members complete naturalization efforts in the Cedar Creek watershed. Building stronger connections between the community and their local natural spaces benefits everyone.”

“At Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC), we believe in challenging assumptions and we see this reflected in how the UTRCA makes a difference in our community,” said Ricardo DeSouza, Vice President, Manufacturing. “We’re proud to be supporting initiatives that help people learn about preserving and protecting our natural environment.”

Toyota recognizes the importance of operating in harmony with nature. We will minimize the disruption of natural habitats as we plan, construct and manage our facilities, and actively enhance the natural balance of plants, animals and ecosystems.
