Applying to Hunting Draws

NOTE: Hunting fee for 2024 is $85

Anyone with a valid Outdoor Card, valid PAL (if gun hunting), applicable Licenses/Tags, Seals for the appropriate WMU, and liability insurance related to hunting may apply to the UTRCA hunting draw. Read the UTRCA’s Terms and Conditions that apply to all properties.

Those wishing to hunt must fill out and submit the required application form to the UTRCA before the deadline date and time. Draw application dates vary for different hunting methods and seasons, so be sure to have your application submitted before the deadline. Remember, it’s FREE to APPLY!

When filling out the application, indicate your desired hunting method/time period (SELECT ONE ONLY) and provide the required information.

Please note the following:

  • Hunters may apply to both Spring and Fall Hunts. Within the spring or fall hunt, each person, whether hunting individually or in a party, may only apply to one hunt.
  • For archery deer hunting ONLY, individuals or parties may choose a first and second choice property. If your first choice property is filled by another individual/party, you will be entered into the draw for your second choice. Remember to fill out this portion of the application to double your chances to hunt on UTRCA properties.
  • For archery deer hunting ONLY at Ivey Tract, Dorchester Swamp, Kintore Swamp, Downey Tract and Golspie Swamp – draw winners are permitted to harvest Wild Turkey, using archery equipment only, at these UTRCA properties during the MNRF fall Wild Turkey season, provided the hunter possesses all MNRF required licences and abides by MNRF Regulations applying to fall Wild Turkey hunting.
  • Since some of our properties are larger than others, more hunters are permitted to access and use the land. Each area has a maximum number of hunters permitted. In the case of controlled gun hunts, minimums are also set to ensure full use of the land space. For controlled gun hunts, only groups that meet the minimum number of hunters will be permitted to enter the draw. Apprentice hunters and their mentors will be considered to be one hunter for the purpose of filling a property.

Successful Lottery Applicants

A draw will be held for each property to ensure the maximum number of hunters is not exceeded for each property. An email will be sent to successful applicants only. You will be asked for your vehicle information and to complete payment for your permit.

Required Paperwork

  • Valid Outdoors Card
  • Current insurance for the entire time of the hunt with a minimum liability of $2,000,000 (insurance provided shall be specific to hunting activities and shall be valid on UTRCA land)

  • Valid Seal for the relevant WMU
  • Valid Possession Acquisition License (if required)
