1952 Upper Thames Valley Conservation Report
In 1952, the provincial Department of Planning and Development published a comprehensive resource survey of the upper Thames River watershed. The report assessed land use, forestry, water, wildlife and recreation. Recommendations included major flood control and stream regulation works, wetland acquisition, reforestation, promotion of soil conservation measures on agricultural land, and recreational and educational facilities.
